Notes from my red book.

“today it didn’t look like the sun was sinking but rather like the clouds were rising in flames”

Our thoughts are almost continuously restless. This is the nature of the thinking mind. It is seeking, restlessly, for relief from its self-created tensions, for the peace of the heart. Silence, within its unlimited reality, keeps an animated world of expressions and there are various types of silence. The silence that frightens, the silence that enters our experience, the silence that hides in the world, the silence concealed within one’s body, the silence that can be cultivated, desired or listened to.

“Something we don’t talk about. An idea that never was, still. Silent is the place. Secretive. Even though the thoughts were very loud. I’m glad it’s quiet now. One hopes, silently. The soul is a dancer.”

“Names. Names. Everything has a name. And whatever doesn’t have a name needs one, so that it can be something. And if you can’t name it, you describe it with familiar names. That’s soothing… Hence silence is called: Silence. (but can it be?)”
