Virginity Purity Innocence Youth
2015 – 2016
The people depicted are taken from everyday life. Human beings who previously did not know each other. Strangers who share one thing – their humanity. The characters perceive, exude a cluelessness, suggesting, as the shadow of their own, a sanctuary.
The center piece of the 21-part photo series forms a triptych with the subtitle: Aurora. In allusions to alchemical illustrations from the 15th century, a visual language is created, that holds the twilight in a naive sense.
“Virginity includes the freedom of disordered impulses and physical integrity. Innocence as the state of an unprejudiced or unknowing human being, that morally can not be regarded as guilty. Youth as a key for innovation and the will, to overcome alienated forms of culture. The pureness of the spirit.”
